Kuler 5: Slice It Up

Kuler 5 Knife
Since the relaunch of Kuler 5 last month, we’ve had a fantastic response with tons of awesome submissions. In light of the success, I’ve decided to kick it up a notch with this next Kuler 5. The theme this time is: “Slice It Up”, so get your ninja slicing, watermelon dicing, crazy shanking ideas ready!

This time, the top 3 winners will receive a copy of the Slice It Up script by Tomas Sinkunas! First place winner will get Lens FX Prism by RodyPolis. Second place winner will get KeyDisplayer v1 for Mac by myself! It’s also a great chance to create awesome content for your reel, experiment with new techniques, and get your imagination going. You can read more about Kuler 5 here.

The Prizes

The prizes this time were made possible thanks to the gracious Tomas and RodyPolis. Tomas’ script served as a great Kuler 5 theme this time and he has offered not just 3 licenses to the winners, but a coupon code to save 10% off his script: SLICEITUPKULER (Valid Oct 1, 2014 to Oct 18, 2014)

Slice It Up is a handy script that allows you to quickly slice apart layers and easily animate the parts with a control layer. It’s a powerful tool to have in your arsenal and I’m so glad we’re able to give away 3 licenses to the winners.

Lens FX Prism
Lens FX Prism is a stock footage pack with tons of beautiful light leaks and light elements, perfect for your video productions and animations. I even did a full review over the product here with some free sample footage. RodyPolis provides stock footage packages for filmmaking, motion graphics, and visual effects. It is also a resource for tutorials and a community for all visual artists looking to improve their craft.

1st: Aaron Smith (Kuler Palette): Tells a mini-story, well done, great reference to Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window

2nd: John Howe (Kuler Palette): Ironic and funny, color matches the mood of the animation, loved the characters.

3rd: Christian Kunwald (Kuler Palette): Loved the intense action theme, character animation, and cuts

4th: Ricardo Mendes (Kuler Palette): Great colors that match the theme, great zombie character, reminded me of Zombieville

Hope you guys really enjoy this Kuler 5’s theme! I can’t wait to see all the amazing results, so get hacking!
