Contest: Win Ink FX Bundle by RodyPolis

RodyPolis-Ink-FX-Bundle-Contest
The Dojo is hosting another animation contest with some sweet prizes thanks to the folks over at RodyPolis. Up for grabs this time are (3) Ink FX Bundles, which include both Ink FX Studio and Ink FX Flow valued at $79. These are fantastic for creating motion graphics, and are shot at 4K, 60fps for flexibility. In fact, you can even check out my review over Ink FX Studio and download some free full res samples to try them yourselves.

How to Enter

  1. Create a 10-15 second animation using the provided assets in some clever or creative way.
  2. Upload the video to YouTube or Vimeo with the following description: “Entry for CreativeDojo & RodyPolis Ink FX Bundle contest: https://creativedojo.net/win-ink-fx-bundle-by-rodypolis”
  3. Post your video URL link in the comments below on this post
  4. Deadline is July 31st, 2015
  5. Follow both of us on Facebook, Twitter, or subscribe on YouTube

The top 3 entries will win a copy of the Ink FX Bundle, along with being featured on a DojoTV episode! Despite the prizes, this is still a great way to try new things and test your limits using the provided assets. Try your best to be creative and use the ink footage in a unique way. Stray away from creating the usual basic ink text reveal or watercolor effect. Above is an example I created using just the 3 ink footage in a unique way.

As always, I’m excited to see what you guys come up with. Happy experimenting and may the odds be ever in your favor.

Winners

The contest is officially over and we had a ton of great submissions! Unfortunately, I could only choose 3, but there will be many other contests in the future. We weren’t looking for the typical ink reveal, matte style, or dramatic ink flowing environment kind of animation. The following were picked to be most creative and different.

Claude Autret

Beautiful, epic, and stunning work by Claude. Love the monochromatic feel and intense action. Great use of Trapcode Particular, Trapcode Form, Shine, Universe, Freeform Pro, and of course RodyPolis Ink FX Flow assets.

Geert Meeusen

Very clean, simple, and smooth animation to tie in with ink elements. Great looking wisps of “smoke” and title transitions really nailed this one.

RoughPanic

Although initially it looks similar to my symmetrical ink tutorial, this entry creates a very interesting and cool looking abstract energy mixture. With dark color schemes, various abstract scenes and transitions, this entry was well put together.

Thanks for all the wonderful entries everyone, it was definitely hard choosing the top 3. If you didn’t win this time, don’t fret because there will be many more contests in the future. In the meantime, enjoy the free ink assets, improve your craft, and have fun.

    1. You’ll notice that the large opening in the middle area is an ink and the same ink is playing out in each of the smaller octagons that resemble scales…cute aye…

  1. Greets from Germany Vinhson,
I started learning AE 5 months ago and I have to say that you’re one of my favorite tutors!
I was really pumped when I saw that you planned a new contest, this took about 8 hours to create

I am happy about any feedback:

  2. Took me a few days to create this. I wanted to do something with glitch fx on the ink, and once i found the song i knew exactly what i wanted to do. I also tried to stray from the kaleido effect most people are using. The camera was pretty hard to figure out, because i never have really used it. xD Other than that, i am really proud of the outcome. I hope you enjoyed this 15 second animation. c:

    1. I like this very much! It’s an attractive design, I love the Ink leaping across the screen, and it’s different from everything else I’ve seen.

  3. (Sorry, already the third comment, but this is the fine-tuned one! )
Hi, this is my very first motion graphics competition entry, very exciting 🙂 I really liked your example, so the hardest part was thinking of something other than the Kaleida effect. But I had a lot of fun creating this!

      1. Thanks much! I will put together a VFX breakdown for this in the next couple of days to show how I did this. I animated in Hitfilm Pro 3, but I think the technique should adapt fairly easily for After Effects.

  4. You’ll notice a previous message showing a link to a video of my three entries being used in our movie scene for https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Eternal-Guardian-of-Light/321503048055733?ref=hl …the previous video was removed during the editing stages of the video and there is another up in its place…here is a link to it…it isn’t being posted for the public but for individuals involved in the movie and also for you to view to show how my entries are being used…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ydd3siuy_4
