Flames with After Effects’ Built In Tools

So I was going through VideoHive and looking at some past ‘top sellers’ and noticed a few projects with flame elements. Yes, people have done some fantastic flame simulations with Trapcode Particular and Trapcode Form, but how would you achieve a flame simulation without any 3rd party plugins and use only After Effect’s built in tools? You’ll find out in my upcoming tutorial.

Bare in mind that this is from a motion graphics standpoint, if you want realistic looking flames, check out Fumefx or use a 3D application like 3DS Max.
