The key to this effect is using the CC Kaleida effect to get symmetrical results, and combing it with Polar Coordinates to remap the ink footages. From there, it’s all about tinkering with various settings and animating parameters to get abstract and mesmerizing results.

In the original example, I used Magic Bullet Looks, Universe Chromatic Aberration, and Holomatrix to get that dark steel digital look, but you could easily achieve the same thing using built-in color correction tools and my Dojo Glitch script.

For more interesting results, try using various effects and distortions, enabling motion blur and depth of field, and playing with lighting via Optical Flares or glows. Overall, it’s a pretty unique and interesting effect, so if you create anything cool, definitely share it in the comments below!
